Privacy Policy

Roam: Location App Blocker is built to enforce blocks for Apps & Websites from your own device and account, with server calls limited to authentication, purchase verification, address search, support, and operational security.

Information Roam Uses

Roam may process your account email, name, authentication identifiers, purchase entitlement state, support messages, coarse app configuration state, Focus Zone names or addresses, and location permission state needed to run location-aware Apps & Websites blocking.

Roam uses Apple Screen Time and Family Controls on iOS so you can select Apps & Websites to block. The selected app tokens are handled by Apple platform APIs and are used to apply your blocking rules.

On Android, Roam uses a local VPN DNS filter only while blocking is active so selected website domains fail normally. Roam does not proxy HTTPS traffic or sell browsing data.

How Roam Uses Data

  • Authenticate your account and keep your mobile session active.
  • Search for Focus Zones through the Roam backend address proxy instead of shipping a map-provider key in the app.
  • Apply your Focus Zone, Blocked Schedule, and selected Apps & Websites rules on your device.
  • Verify App Store and Google Play purchases and keep your entitlement status current.
  • Prevent abuse, debug reliability issues, and respond to support requests.

Location and Device Permissions

Roam requests location access so it can tell when you enter or leave Focus Zones where blocking should be active. Background location lets those rules keep working when the app is not open.

You can revoke Location, iOS Screen Time, or Android VPN permissions in device settings. If you do, Roam may not be able to detect Focus Zones or enforce selected Apps & Websites limits.

Roam does not sell your location data. Address search, store entitlement checks, support requests, and production diagnostics are used only to run, protect, and improve the service.

Your saved Focus Zone coordinates and schedules remain in your device configuration and are not synced as portable account preferences. When you search for an address, Roam sends the search text and, when available, a nearby coordinate through its backend to the address-search provider so it can return relevant places.

Third-Party Services

Roam relies on Apple, Google, authentication, hosting, email, address-search, diagnostics, and analytics providers where needed to operate the app. These providers are expected to protect Roam data consistently with this policy and their own service terms.

Retention and Account Deletion

Roam keeps account, entitlement, support, and operational records only as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain security.

You can delete your account from the Roam mobile app settings. Deletion removes the Roam account and app-owned server records tied to that account, including public-client tokens and saved app data, except where limited records must be retained for legal, security, or store-transaction reasons.
